FAQs

What is PulseCheck?

PulseCheck is a digital wellness platform designed to support the mental readiness, emotional processing, and long-term sustainability of public safety professionals. It offers structured self-check-ins, guided tools, secure reflection, and educational content that fit the realities of shift work and high-stress environments.

Who is PulseCheck designed for?

PulseCheck is built for firefighters, EMS professionals, dispatchers, law enforcement personnel, and other public safety or emergency response professionals. Access may be provided through an individual subscription, an agency or department subscription, or a sponsored program through an employer or partner organization.

Is PulseCheck therapy or mental health treatment?

No. PulseCheck does not provide therapy, diagnosis, medical advice, or treatment. PulseCheck is not a licensed medical or mental health provider. The platform is intended for informational, reflective, and supportive purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care.

Can PulseCheck diagnose PTSD, depression, anxiety, or other conditions?

No. PulseCheck does not diagnose, prevent, or treat any mental health condition. Any assessments, check-ins, or tools offered are designed to support self-awareness and reflection, not clinical diagnosis.

What should I do if I’m in crisis or feeling unsafe?

PulseCheck is not an emergency service and does not provide crisis intervention or emergency response. If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide, self-harm, or feel that you may be a danger to yourself or others, you should seek immediate help.

In the United States, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you are outside the United States, contact your local emergency services or crisis hotline.

PulseCheck is intended to support reflection and awareness, but it should never be relied upon as a substitute for urgent or emergency care.

Does PulseCheck monitor users for crisis or contact emergency services?

No. PulseCheck does not monitor users in real time and does not contact emergency services on a user’s behalf. Users are responsible for seeking appropriate help if they are in crisis.

Is PulseCheck safe to use while on duty?

PulseCheck should not be used while driving, operating heavy machinery, responding to calls, or performing tasks that require full attention. Users are responsible for deciding when and how to engage with the platform safely.

Is my information private?

Yes. Protecting user privacy is a core principle of PulseCheck. Journal entries, reflections, assessment responses, mood check-ins, and similar inputs are treated as private content and are not visible to other users or agencies.

Can my employer, chief, or agency administrator see my personal entries or responses?

No. Agencies do not have access to individual user names, journal entries, assessment responses, reflections, or identifiable personal data. Agency administrators cannot view or monitor individual user activity.

Does PulseCheck share any information with agencies?

If you access PulseCheck through an agency plan, PulseCheck may share de-identified and aggregated data only, such as overall usage trends or general wellness indicators. This data cannot reasonably be used to identify individual users.

What data does PulseCheck collect?

PulseCheck collects information necessary to operate and improve the platform, including account details, app usage data, subscription and transaction information, device and login information, and content you voluntarily provide. PulseCheck does not infer diagnoses or clinical mental health conditions from user data.

Is my data sold or used for advertising?

No. PulseCheck does not sell personal data. Information may be shared with trusted service providers solely to operate the Services or when required by law.

How secure is my data?

PulseCheck uses reasonable safeguards designed to protect user information. However, no online system can guarantee absolute security, and users acknowledge that transmission of information over the internet carries inherent risk.

How do individual subscriptions work?

Individual subscriptions automatically renew at the selected billing interval unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. If you subscribed through an app store, cancellations must be handled directly through that platform.

How do agency subscriptions work?

Agencies may purchase multi-user subscriptions for their personnel. Each agency designates an Agency Administrator to manage seats and billing. Administrators do not have access to individual user data or content.

Can agencies add or remove users mid-term?

Agencies may be able to add seats during a subscription period at the then-current rate. Seat reductions generally take effect at the next renewal period.

Are refunds available?

Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law. If a subscription is canceled, access continues through the end of the current billing period.

Who owns the content I enter into PulseCheck?

You retain ownership of the content you create. PulseCheck does not claim ownership of personal reflections or journal entries. By using the Services, you grant PulseCheck a limited license to store and process content solely to operate and improve the platform.

Can PulseCheck use my content for research or reporting?

PulseCheck may use de-identified or aggregated data to understand trends, improve the Services, or provide high-level insights. This data does not identify individual users.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. You may request account deletion by contacting PulseCheck support. Certain data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

What happens if I violate the Terms of Service?

PulseCheck may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the Terms of Service, misuse the platform, or engage in unlawful or harmful behavior.

How can I contact PulseCheck for support or questions?

You can contact PulseCheck by email at [email protected]. Support can assist with technical issues, billing questions, account access, and general inquiries.
